Learn how to weave home decorations by exploring different colours, yarns and textures.

This class is ideal for beginners who are interested in learning the basics of weaving on a lap loom. Hand weaving is a meditative art that allows you to unwind while creating something beautiful

What will we learn?
Lucy will go through all the tools and materials you will need to create your weaving. You will learn how to warp up the loom, the basic weaving techniques for example tassels and tabby weave. We will also cover more intricate techniques like soumak and loops. Lucy loves to weave with texture so there will be plenty of that. Finally, you will learn how to take your weave off your loom and to hang on a dowel.

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for all, wether you are a complete beginner or if you’ve done some weaving before we are just happy to have you weaving with us. 

Please keep in mind the workshop is up 4 flights of stairs and there is no lift. 

What will I take home:
A beautiful woven piece of cloth, you can either use as a wall hanging or sew into a pouch. 

What’s included:

• 5 hours tuition 

• All materials will be provided, you will have the opportunity to buy the loom separately. Please feel free to bring any yarn that you would like to work with and any inspiration you may have. 

• Refreshments, please let us know if you have any dietary requirements 

What is not included: 

• Lunch, but there are plenty of places to grab a bite and take a short walk (1 minute) to have you lunch by the sea.
